Brighton, Victoria
Serving the Children of the World

Welcome

Welcome to the Kiwanis Brighton web site. Kiwanis is an international community service organization which seeks to create a brighter future for the children of the world. In an atmosphere of fun and friendship we are involved in a range of local and international projects in addition to supporting other organizations in their efforts to improve the quality of life for children.

Kiwanis Brighton meets for dinner at the Marine Hotel, Cnr. New and Park Sts. Brighton on the 4th Wednesday of each month.

For more information visit the Kiwanis Australia website

We welcome new members of all ages and backgrounds.

Kiwanis Brighton has a particular focus on sick and "at risk" children and youth. Our main projects involve support for HeartKids Victoria, the provision of "trauma Bags" for the Monash Medical Centre Paediatric Unit, the supply of Hygiene Kits for homeless youth (via Southern Directions Youth Services and Open Family). We also support MS Australia 24 Hour Mega Swim, Gordon Care, Foundation House, Red Cross and other organizations in addition to involvement in some specific Kiwanis programs.

By 2015 Kiwanis clubs around the world will have raised $115,000,000 to eliminate maternal and neo-natal tetanus from the 39 countries where this disease is still a major health problem. The disease kills a baby every 9 minutes. See: www.TheEliminateProject.org
